SUNDAY, JANUARY 15 MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDE

There's a 40% chance of rain tomorrow (Sunday), so it may be smarter to do a local ride. That way, if we do have to bail, we won't have too much driving time invested.

That said, let's hear a suggestion or two. I will finalize ride plan based on copious input by 5:30pm.

Thanks,
RM

Carol and Peter- I'm very

Carol and Peter-

I'm very sorry to hear about Peter's accident; I'm sure we all are. Although there's not much we can do to help from afar, we hope he makes a fast recovery and can begin getting around on his own soon. If you will let us know when he can start reading emails, we'll all send him some.

Take care and best of luck.

Marc

Thanks again for the ride

Thanks again for the ride today everyone and Jerry--get better soon!

Regarding that car we saw on the trail, here's the post I made to the car website that I frequent: http://theamcforum.com/forum/what-is-it_topic36003.html

Interesting chain of events.

Interesting chain of events. Is Pete the new RM? Somebody really needs to rewrite the history at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdication. What is going on in RM nation? See you there- rain looks like a good bet mid-day but earlier...

Hi guys - Peter Wood's wife

Hi guys - Peter Wood's wife here...Just a note to let you know that Peter had a bad road bike accident today - 5 ribs broken, scapula broken in 2 places, punctured lung and 3 damaged vetebra (T4, 5 and 6)...5 I think is squished. No nerve damage but he is in the ICU while they monitor the drainage from his lung area. He has his own pain medication monitor and when I left him he was in his happy place. Ride safe everyone!

Ok Folks! the RM has issued

Ok Folks! the RM has issued his edict (through me).... He wants to ride Hodges and do the new stuff that Julie talks about. Here's a map for those who haven't been there (Steve)... http://www.whereweride.com/mountain-bike/california/san-diego/lake-hodge...

Exit Via Rancho Parkway from I-15. Turn right, then the 1st right and follow to the end.

8:00 am rendevouz 8:30 start. Julie, you're the leader for this ride... Per the RM....

Wait! The RM can't just say

Wait! The RM can't just say "tell me when and where to show up"! It doesn't work that way. As Alan has so aptly said in the past, we need a Fatah (or whatever....) I guess you'd call it a decree from the mighty one. Now, what are we going to do without direction? Oh lord.... I'm lost. don't respond to that peeps. you know who you are!

Just tell me when and where

Just tell me when and where to show up. I have to go to a wedding right now!

See you in the am.

oh oh...that looks like Mt

oh oh...that looks like Mt Woodson. Most people ride up the steep asphalt road and then down the dirt trail. It is pretty popular with hikers on weekends...and there are definitely some near-death rocky areas. i'll toss in a vote for Penasquitos or Hodges for a change of scenery. Hodges now goes west of the dam for quite a ways including some interesting tight switchbacks into Crosby Ranch area. it too can be popular with hikers/strollers on weekends...

I'm good for whereever.

I'm good for whereever.

You're good for whereever?

You're good for whereever? Even after 65 miles?

Should be an interesting

Should be an interesting response - we've done this once but with reluctance as prior to this the venerable RM and Petey had a near death experience on the Eastern part of this although it was a different season. Since we all know who is always in charge, I'll end it right here...

Great ride last Sunday,

Great ride last Sunday, people! I really enjoyed it, even walking uphill with a 28 lb. bike!

I'm interested in a ride, as long as I don't have to ride in the rain! My suggestion is http://www.bicyclewarehouse.com/articles/lake-poway-pg66.htm. I haven't done this ride before, but it's close and there's lots of climbing to do.
